I’m a chronically ill mom. And sometimes, motherhood looks like survival.
Some mornings, getting out of bed is the hardest thing I’ll do all day.
Sometimes my kids have to wait while I find enough strength to move.
The dishes wait.
The laundry waits.
The plans get canceled.

Sometimes we stay home.
Sometimes the couch is our big adventure.
Sometimes screen time lasts longer than I’d like.
And sometimes frozen pizza is absolutely dinner.
But here’s what chronic illness has taught me:
My children don’t need a perfect mother. They need a mother who loves them.
They may not always get the motherhood I imagined for them.
But they get a mom who shows up even when showing up looks different.
A mom who loves them through the pain.
Through the exhaustion.
Through the limitations.
Through the days when simply surviving takes everything she has.
Chronic illness changed how I mother.
It never changed how fiercely I love my children. ❤️
So if you’re a chronically ill mom today, give yourself some grace.
You don’t have to accomplish everything to be a good mom.
Sometimes, making it through the day is enough.
