Things nobody tells you about fibromyalgia when you’re first diagnosed.

Things nobody tells you about fibromyalgia when you’re first diagnosed.

That the fatigue will sometimes be worse than the pain.

That “fibro fog” is a real thing and not an excuse! losing words mid-sentence, forgetting what you walked into a room for, feeling stupid when you are absolutely not stupid.

That your good days will confuse people who saw you struggling on your bad days.

That “but you don’t look sick” will become the most exhausting sentence in the English language.

That some days getting dressed genuinely is the achievement.

That you’ll grieve the version of yourself you thought you’d always be.

That finding women who get it, who don’t need you to explain…will feel like finding water in a desert.
